Thanksgiving in Springfield Center

Thanksgiving in Springfield Center

Much thanks go out to all who attended the Richtsmeier/Schomish/Levene/Murphy 06 Thanksgiving festivities. I had a wonderful time and got some much needed rest. We had the first annual Turkey bowl which went over well except for a few injures and a broken nose.
(You the man Connor!) Hopefully we can locate a location that is not quite so muddy next year.
Otherwise everyone will wear pads and cleats.

The food was great and so was the big pheasant hunt that took place this past Saturday. All the puppies and hunters involved did extremely well and will be an experience that I will not soon forget. We helped the Dietz's take out their dock. The water was cold but with a little teamwork and two six packs of beer, we were able to accomplish our goal.

Seems like a blur but I cant remember the last time that I accomplished so much over the course of a Thanksgiving weekend. (Aside from gaining 5 lbs.)

Thanks again everybody! I should have the turkey bowl pics up a.s.a.p.!

Things that you can only safely say on Thanksgiving

In the spirit of truly good crude humor, I would like to this 18

Things that you can only safely say on Thanksgiving….

01. Talk about a huge breast!

02. Tying the legs together keeps the inside moist.

03. It's Cool Whip time!

04. If I don't undo my pants, I'll burst!

05. That's one terrific spread!

06. I'm in the mood for a little dark meat.

07. Are you ready for seconds yet?

08. Its a little dry, do you still want to eat it?

09. Just wait your turn, you'll get some!

10. Don't play with your meat.

11. Just spread the legs open and stuff it in.

12. Do you think you'll be able to handle all these people at once?

13. I didn't expect everyone to come at once!

14. You still have a little bit on your chin.

15. How long will it take after you stick it in?

16. You'll know it's ready when it pops up.

17. Wow, I didn't think I could handle all of that!

18. That's the biggest one I've ever seen!

Happy Thanksgiving

Finished Fence

Helped to finish a fence this past Saturday, with my father and cousins. We picked up where we had left off a month ago and finished the job. Clearly the one man auger is the way to go. Completely forgot how to measure every and anything, but remembered everthing by the end of the afternoon. Glad I could help out. Nothing like quality time with the family....

I will post more picures of the job soon. (When I actually get around to taking pictures.)

Sugata Sanshiro

I came across this film the other night while surfing the internet. It is Akira Kirosowas first film about the story of one of the first judo pioneers Sugata Sanshiro. The English translation is a little cracked out, but the film communicates beyond language barriers. Its a little over an hour. If you have time to kill sit down and watch it, believe me you wont be disappointed

Halloween Aftermath...

Its over. Drat. 365 days till the next one. Oh well, at least there are some pictures and leftover candy. Lots of great costumes, although there were only a few trick or treaters. I put on my hakama and went as a Samurai. (Big suprise, huh.) Its one of the only times I can wear the whole getup outside of sword class. Have to admit it is actually quite comfy. Jen took the picture shown above. Hope everyones Halloween was as fun as mine! Cheers!
